Fabric straps are comfortable and wick away moisture, but they trap moisture and are less formal. Silicone straps are durable and waterproof, but they trap sweat. I have sensitive skin and have to wash the silicone straps and breathe from time to time on my wrist if I don’t want to get rashes. Leather, on the other hand, is durable. It’s comfortable to wear and breathable, and it molds to your skin. In my opinion, it also looks more stylish and professional than fabric or silicone.

Bluebonnet is a small Texas-based company that makes Apple Watch straps from full-grain cowhide. I was very impressed with the thickness of the leather and the quality of the construction of the Apple Watch inserts and buckle (if the metal parts are silver or stainless steel contrast with the color of the band). It fits my 41-mm Series 7 perfectly. But if you have a small wrist, you’ll probably need to punch a hole or two in the band. Avoid the temptation to use a knife—it’s possible a leather hole punch or take it to a store.

★ Alternative: If you’re a baller, Apple has it own proprietary Hermès collaborations which I do not own. However, I played with the Single Tour band for Apple Watch at Apple Events and it was beautiful and makes your Series 10 more of a dress watch, if you’re the kind of person who cares about watch behavior.

Quince is a direct-to-consumer business that believes in offering premium essentials at an affordable price. Its skin Apple Watch strap ($30) it’s stiffer and thinner, the color isn’t as vibrant, and the hardware is weird—I’m not sure why the buckle has an extra loop at the top. However, it comes in two different sizes, and the smaller size fits my Watch SE just fine. If you want a cheaper option, this one works for you.
