One of Kraven the Hunter’s Weirdest Moments Added to Post

If you see Kraven the Hunter or recently online, you probably know about a strange moment that happened in the middle of the film. After being informed that his goons have died trying and failing to kidnap the titular hunter, Alessandro Nivola’s Aleksei Systevich lets out a scream that sounds like a dying machine of some sort. You’d think this was meant to set up his Rhino transformation later in the film, or even get some sort of reaction from his top goon. But it’s not going to happen, so it exists as a weird moment in a movie that could have happened. more interesting in general.

What happened here? According to Nivola in a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporterhe initially made a silent scream during the shooting basically because he decided at that moment. It seemed to pay off as it made the crew laugh, and director JC Chandor told him that the take would be kept in the final cut of the film. But at some point during post-production, things changed, and that weird sound he made was something that was done in post-production. He believes it’s not as effective as silent shouting, and may have a point, given how memetic it has been over the past month.

In the same interview, Nivola offered some thoughts on why The requirements critically raked coals. By her account, being on set was a “joyful experience,” and she enjoyed “going wild” with Chandor and co-star Christopher Abbott. (The three previously collaborated on the 2014 film Chandor A Cruelest Year.) He said that there did not seem to be any problems with the production from his point of view, and noted some of the issues in the film “maybe started to play in the editing. In these shows, you hear about all the fights in the studio, and maybe there are a lot of chefs.

However said Kraven negative reception, Nivola continued it. He is grateful for the reviews that praise his performance, but otherwise, he would do well to avoid the “black hole” that can be critical and fan responses. It probably helps that this isn’t the only film he’s been in lately: you’ll be seeing him as well The Brutalists and The room next door, both are in theaters now, or later in January.
