It has been a busy start to the new year for the La Liga champions, but Ancelotti was able to turn his side around to Copa del Rey victory on Monday night.

The heavy hitters will be back in Saudi Arabia as Madrid look for another piece of silverware. Kylian Mbappe, Antonio Rudiger, Aurelien Choumeni and Thibaut Courtois are among the players set for a recall.

Ancelotti will also have Vinicius Jr. available on Thursday despite being off against Valencia. The Brazilian will serve his suspension in La Liga.

Los Blancos are without long-term absentees Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao, but they will benefit from the imminent return of David Alaba from a torn ACL. The Austrian has been out for a year.

Predicted Real Madrid Lineup vs Mallorca (4-2-3-1): humble; Vazquez, Choumeni, Rudiger, Mendy; Valverde, Kamavinga; Rodrigo, Bellingham, Vinicius; Mbappe.

Jagoba Arsate

Samu Costa has missed Mallorca’s previous three games through injury, but has traveled with the team to the Middle East and looks set to be in contention for his first minutes in a month on Thursday.

Antonio Rello and Antonio Sanchez will both undergo late fitness tests, but neither player is expected to be included in the starting XI.

Jagoba Arrasate made a heavy rotation for Friday’s Copa del Rey defeat and will return to a more familiar lineup in Jeddah.

Mallorca Predicted Lineup vs Real Madrid (4-4-2): Grief; Mafeo, Valjent, Copete, Mojica; Asano, Morellans, Muscarel, Darder; Larin, Muriki.

Mallorca are hardly the most adventurous of units, but they are well-drilled and bound to be annoying on Thursday.

Madrid, however, head into the match in good form and are unlikely to get stuck – as was the case on the opening weekend. Unlike their opponents, they are used to long ventures in the Middle East, but they have to persevere before finally enjoying success.

Prediction: Real Madrid 2-0 Mallorca
