Tottenham midfielder Bentanker is out for two weeks but is ‘all good’

Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentanker will be out for two weeks after suffering concussion during the EFL Cup semi-final first leg win over Liverpool.

The game was delayed as Bentanker fell awkwardly while attempting a header at a corner and received treatment on the pitch.

He was carried off the field on a stretcher and was monitored in hospital but manager Ange Postecoglou says he will be good to return after a spell on the sidelines.

“It looks like a concussion but nothing more than that. He was in hospital, obviously, and they did all the tests in terms of the investigation, to make sure everything is fine,” Postecoglou said ahead of his side’s FA Cup third-round clash at non-league side Tamworth. said

“And all’s well. He’s back home. He’s fine. He feels good.

“We will obviously follow the protocol now. I think it’s a couple of weeks where you have to make sure everything is fine.”

Bentanker will have to sit out the Premier League trip for next week’s clashes against rivals Arsenal and Everton but could return for the Europa League fixture against Hoffenheim on January 23.

“It was painful, but I thought the guys handled it well, and our medical team handled it well, and, as I say, thank you, all good,” Postecoglou added.

Tottenham have not won the FA Cup since 1991.
