Jessica Camara takes on Caroline Dubois for the WBC lightweight world title after the weigh-in.

As the Canadian challenger sullenly advanced, Dubois grabbed her and Kamala snapped, “Don’t disrespect me!” as the two separated.

Dubois will defend his WBC title for the first time on Saturday, live sky sports.

The champion warned: “This is not the end for me. This is just the beginning.

“She’s like a pebble in my shoe now and I have to kick her out.”

But Kamala responded: “She won’t do (anything).

“I have the ability to do it and that’s what I’m going to do.

“She believes in herself. I believe in myself,” she added. “I felt a little disrespected today, so I just showed her what was going on.”

But DuBois saw all this as a sign of weakness. “To be honest, I saw fear. I saw a lot of fear, I saw a lot of tension,” she later said.

Both boxers have made weight for the world championship bout at Canon Medical Arena in Sheffield, with Kamara weighing in at 9st 8lb and Dubois weighing in at 9st 5oz. The battle is more brutal.

Callum Simpson and Steed Woodall have also made weight for their British and Commonwealth super middleweight title fights, with the former weighing in at 13lb and the latter weighing in at No. 12 lbs.

“I’m ready to go 15 rounds if necessary,” Woodall warned the champion. “I’m in really good shape and ready to go.

“Records are for DJs, it means nothing to me,” he continued. “The most important thing is me and Callum in the ring.”

Supporters of Simpson, who is hugely popular in his home town of Barnsley, made their voices heard at the weigh-in event at Cutlers Hall.

“This isn’t just my journey, it’s our journey and they’ve supported me from day one,” Simpson said with a smile. “This is a dream come true.

“It doesn’t matter the challenger, the champion, my mentality is always the same to be the best that I can be,” he continued.

“I believe the best Callum Simpson will beat the best Steed Woodall.

“I worked very hard to get these (titles) and I’m going to work very hard to keep them… They will stay in Yorkshire.”

Another exciting fight pits undefeated lightweight Scott Forrest against high-flying Londoner Deavan Miller.

Forrest, who weighed in at 14st 4lb (exactly the same as Miller), stared down his opponent with intensity.

Miller smiled after the game and predicted he would win via stoppage, saying: “We’ll see tomorrow. The conversation is over.”

“The lightweight division is booming, so there’s a lot to like.”

Forrest, a knockout fighter in great form, maintained the same intensity, declaring: “He can say what he wants but don’t blink because he’ll get splashed.”

Scotland’s Sam Hickey will face Lewis Howells in a tricky second professional fight on the televised bill.

Hickey, a former amateur star ready to make his mark on professional sports, said: “It’s a different energy. This guy is coming at me. I just have to stop him and put an end to what he’s doing.”
