Agency founder and CEO Mauricio Umansky criticizes state leadership and high costs for property owners, but offers some “optimism” about California’s rebuilding after the devastating wildfires.
Founder of the Corcoran Group and star of “Shark Tank”. Barbara Corcoran set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to help residents of the Pacific Palisades mobile home park, which he called his “little piece of heaven” that was affected by the California wildfires.
The “beloved” Tahitian Terrace Mobile Home Park, where she and others owned homes, was “totally destroyed when the devastating Palisades Fire moved rapidly through the park on Tuesday,” Corcoran said Thursday on social media.
According to his page, his fundraiser on the GoFundMe platform had raised $117,364 as of 3pm EST on Friday. It has a stated goal of $600,000.

Corcoran said in a statement to FOX Business on Friday that she is “absolutely heartbroken by the massive devastation of everything los angeles.”
“Pacific Palisades and the community of Tahitian Terrace in particular is a little bit of heaven,” he said. “I was fortunate enough to have a home in the community for the past five years and to make lasting friendships with some of the kindest, most selfless and genuine people I have ever met. Many of the residents, who are of age, had built their lives here for many decades and planned to live out their retirement here. They have lost absolutely everything.”
Corcoran said he has donated $100,000 of his own funds to GoFundMe.
The money raised by their GoFundMe fundraiser will help residents of Tahitian Terrace Mobile Home Park with “immediate essentials such as food, clothing and shelter as they take the first steps to rebuild their lives,” according to the GoFundMe page.

Corcoran said FOX business was “working with the HOA to address the immediate needs of displaced residents.”
The Palisades fire that hit the mobile home park started Tuesday and has burned more than 20,400 acres in the Los Angeles area as of Friday afternoon, according to CalFire. The flames, which are contained to 8%, have destroyed more than 5,000 structures.

Southern California is also battling at least four other fires: the Eaton Fire, the Kenneth Fire, the Hurst Fire and the Lidia Fire.

Combined, the five fires have affected nearly 36,300 hectares until Friday afternoon. At least 10 people have died in the Los Angeles area.
