Taimar Mills admitted that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have gone through tough times before and recovered successfully, adding that they will find form again. However, he hopes that doesn’t happen against England. Mills also mentioned that he wouldn’t be surprised if they started scoring again soon.
“They’ve been through tough times before and come out the other side and they’ll know what they need to do to come out the other side (again). Hopefully, it won’t be too many games against England but you win. “To see them score again , don’t be surprised,” he said in an interview with The Times of India.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s recent struggles in Test cricket
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s struggles with the bat contributed significantly to India’s defeat in Australia. Rohit scored only 31 runs in three Test matches and five innings, with an average of only 6.20 and a maximum score of only 10. As captain, Rohit led the team in three Test matches, but India lost two of them.
Kohli was unbeaten in the first Test but managed only 90 runs in the next four Tests, finishing with 190 runs at an average of 23.75. He has repeatedly rejected outside off-field deliveries, drawing criticism.
The India skipper ended 2024 with 619 runs in 14 Tests at an average of 24.76 with two centuries, both against England. Kohli, meanwhile, scored 417 runs in 19 innings in 2024 at an average of 24.52.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s successful careers are no accident, says Tymal Mills. He said their reputation for consistently scoring goals was a testament to their skill and determination. Mills believes their experience allows them to handle both good and bad situations in their careers.
“These guys (Virat and Rohit) have scored so many runs in their careers that you don’t get a reputation just because of luck. It’s because they are two of the best ever (in the sport) players. “They’re going to be able to handle the highs and lows better than other people, and they’re obviously going to be confident in their abilities,” Mills added.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are expected to return to action for India’s three-match ODI series against England in February. After the series against England, India has no more ODI matches scheduled before the Champions Trophy.
