Los Angeles fires: 15,000 acres burned as firefighters gain ground




The fires are still raging in Los Angeles, having already burned over 15,000 hectares and destroyed 10,000 buildings. While high winds fanned the flames for days, calmer conditions on Jan. 10 gave firefighters a much-needed break, allowing them to make some progress in controlling the blaze.
