Smith’s stellar performance in T20 leagues

Smith’s time in Major League Cricket (MLC) was another highlight of his recent T20 tour. He led the Washington Liberty to the 2024 MLC championship, scoring 336 points in 9 games with an average of 56.00 and a shooting percentage of 148.67.

His adaptability and outstanding performance in different conditions have made him a sought-after player in T20 leagues across the globe. In the BBL, Smith continued to show his class, cementing his status as one of the most reliable batsmen in the format.

Plans that go beyond traditional forms

Known for his prowess in Test cricket, Smith is now focusing more on the shorter formats of the game. “We will see how far I can go in long cricket. But I think when I’m done, I’ll play short cricket for a while,” he said.

The 33-year-old is aware of competition from younger players but remains motivated to continue performing at the highest level. “There are a lot of good young kids who are hitting the ball out of the park. There are others all over the country who are trying,” he added.
