‘They couldn’t believe what we both achieved in two years’: Brother-sister founding duo slams Shark Tank India’s Vineeta Singh, leaving netizens angry

Personal Touch Skincare founders Ashish and Aditi Jawa recently slammed investors on the entrepreneurship-based reality show Shark Tank India 4. The founders claimed that the sharks, as investors are called on the show, did not treat them well.

The founders especially trained their guns on Vineeta Singh, the co-founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics. They accused Singh of being condescending and disrespectful.

During the Personal Touch Skincare presentation, Singh questioned the skincare brand’s reach and sales figures. Singh couldn’t believe his reach on Instagram was organic and not augmented.

Looking at his Shopify data, the CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics accused the founders of falsifying his data. In a video posted on her Instagram account, Aditi said that it was her dream to go on Shark Tank India and it would have been nice if they got the deal.

“Not getting one didn’t affect us that much, but what hurt was the way the sharks treated us and how they kept saying our community wasn’t real. They kept asking questions about our authenticity”.

Their brother and co-founder Ashish Jawan said the “harsh reality” is that the Sharks couldn’t believe what the brother-sister duo achieved and achieved in the last 2 years.

“We even showed our Shopify data, which is a very confidential thing. We did it to show that we’ve built a community of customers who are like family to us and buy from us a lot, so our brand has increased 11 times year- year we are very hurt that our PT family was called fake.”

Needless to say, the pitchers’ attitude didn’t go down well with social media users. Netizens not only accused the founders of running an MLM-type business, but also criticized them for playing the victim card after failing to get the deal.

They also supported Vineeta to expose startups with numbers that don’t add up.

“I feel like they’re doing an MLM type of thing. The way their followers are assembled and they’re all middle-class women 25-40 tells you everything you need to know. That’s why their sales go up to end of the month because it’s certain targets and these guys tactically offer sales and new releases at that time, so they don’t have an organic brand presence outside of their events and shitty cult communities to keep them engaged and stuck in. My gf is a huge skin care geek, even she hasn’t spent 19 grand on a single brand in her life that’s disgusting Vineeta should have criticized the screening team to even allow them in the tank in the first place,” one user commented.

“Genius passes victim card marketing now,” said another user. “This year, thanks to Vineeta, he is exposing quite a few startups with fake numbers. He said in an interview that his past investment in shark tank has given him some bad experiences,” observed a third user.

“Vineeta is a gem. She literally exposed them to her numbers even when the man had his laptop on. Bhai thought the 15 million figure would show aur sharks laut ho jayenge but he didn’t realize that everyone can’t overlook facts like Namita Ko Great job Vineeta (sic),” said another user.

“Man, I am checking their Instagram, they shared a long series of Vande Bharat cuteness stories,” another user mentioned.
