It seems like a crazy dream Deion Sanders may be the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, but something seemed to be percolating Monday night.

Sanders and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones discussed the possibility of Coach Prime making the jump from the college ranks to the NFL, fox sports The report cited multiple sources. Negotiations are reportedly expected to continue as Dallas begins its search for a new head coach.

NFL Network reports that Sanders has “some interest” in the Cowboys job and that Dallas also has “some interest” in potentially bringing him in.

“It was such a joy and fun to hear from Jerry Jones,” Sanders later said tell ESPN. “I love Jerry and believe in Jerry. It’s fun to hang up the phone and process it and think about it. But I love Boulder and everything about our team, coaches, student body and community.”

Sanders has long refused to talk about leaving Colorado Buffaloes For the NFL. However, he recently issued an ultimatum, asking if he would take an NFL job if he had the opportunity to coach his sons.

The Cowboys may have a hard time selecting quarterback Shaddell Sanders in the first round. Sanders is expected to be one of the first few players to be removed. Dallas holds the 12th pick in the draft and needs to make significant moves to move up the board. The Cowboys could potentially select Shiloh Sanders late in the draft.
