Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca was left frustrated after his players dropped more points in the Premier League – this time to Bournemouth.

The Blues took the lead through Cole Palmer, who slotted the ball into the back of the net before selling Mark Travers for dummy.

But the Cherries rallied and won a penalty when Moises Casedo brought down Antoine Semenyo in the box.

Justin Kluivert stepped up and smashed his effort into the corner, sending Robert Sanchez diving the other way.

Semenyo was at it again after 18 minutes, dancing into the box before smashing an effort into the roof of the net.

Stamford Bridge fell silent, as Chelsea headed for a shock defeat on home turf.

But Reece James – returning from injury – saved a point.

The full-back buried a free-kick in the dying minutes to level the score at 2-2, although it was still not the result Chelsea wanted.

Speaking after the game, Maresca said: “I think the first half we absolutely deserved to win the game. We should score three goals. When we conceded in the second half, we dropped. We deserved to win the game when we created many chances.

“That first half was one of the best parts of the season. We were aggressive and we created chances. We are a bit unlucky to score goals. We miss and then accept. We need to continue. The bad thing, as I said, is that after the penalty, we give up and we don’t have to.

“The game was completely under our control and that is something we need to improve.

“Even when we win matches, I always worry. This is the Premier League, when you’re not creating chances and scoring, you have more to worry about.

Reece James opened up about his return in a heart-warming interview, admitting he had been waiting for his moment and was delighted to be back with a goal.

He said: “It was great to get the point and we really should have kept it out of sight, but that’s football. It can come back and hurt you if you don’t take your chances.

“I am happy and honored to represent this team and happy to come back to help the team. It was lonely and frustrating but I’m really happy to be back helping the team.

“We don’t shy away when we play against top teams. We take it one game at a time and see where we end up at the end of the season.
