Fox Sports previously streamed its Super Bowl broadcasts on its Fox Sports app, but for this year’s Big Game it is bringing coverage to its free, ad-supported streaming service, Tubi. the the broadcaster announced on Wednesday that the NFL’s biggest game will be on the streamer, with pregame coverage beginning at 3:30 pm ET on February 9 with the Tubi Red Carpet of Super Bowl LIX.
The NFL rotates Super Bowl broadcasters every year, with CBS airing it last year. Fox will have the NFL title game in 2023 and again this year, while NBC and Peacock will have it in 2026 and ESPN and ABC will broadcast it in 2027.
The confirmation that Fox will make this year’s game available in 4K is welcome, but unexpected, as it previously broadcast the Super Bowl in 4K in 2020 and 2023. For 2023 it makes the option available on compatible cable, satellite and streaming providers, including DirecTV, Dish, Verizon, Optimum, Comcast, Fubo and YouTube TV, as well as those streaming the Super Bowl through its Fox Sports app.
In addition to airing on Fox and streaming on Tubi, this year’s Super Bowl will also be available on Fox Deportes, Telemundo and “all NFL digital properties” without requiring users to authenticate that they are paying for cable, satellite or a live TV streaming service.
