Drew Rosenhaus, Miami agent dolphin Star Tyreek Hill quashes trade speculation surrounding his client. The news comes days after Hill’s controversial exit in a season-ending loss to the New York Jets.

Hill, an eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, sparked trade rumors after exiting Sunday’s game. After a frustrating season, he hit a career low with just 81 catches and 959 yards.

On January 9, 2025, Rosenhaus spoke on The Pat McAfee Show and revealed previously unknown details about Hill’s commitment to the Dolphins;

“Tyreke Hill broke his wrist in a scrimmage with the Commanders in training camp. He’s not going to miss the season, he wants to play. He’s committed to the Miami Dolphins, and he’s a guy with Chris Grier and Mike “McDaniel had a great meeting,” Rosenhaus said.

Rosenhaus delivered a speech Hill’s emotional outburst “Man, I’m out,” the receiver said after Sunday’s game. “It’s great to play here, but at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for my career.”

“Tyreek Hill was emotional after the game and the Dolphins guys know what a great competitor he is. We have 13 players representing this team and no one has any complaints about Tyreek,” Rosenhaus emphasized.

Dolphins general manager Chris Grier confirmed Hill did not request a trade. Head coach Mike McDaniel met with Hill for an hour to discuss his exit from the game;

“I told him very directly … that leaving the game was unacceptable and would not be tolerated in the future, and he accepted responsibility,” McDaniel said.

The situation reflects the growing pressure on Hill, who signed a three-year, $90 million contract extension before the 2024 season. His contract includes $59 million in guaranteed money and has a significant impact on the salary cap — $28.7 million in 2025 and $51.9 million in 2026.

Hill’s struggles were further compounded by quarterback Tagovailoa’s limited action due to a concussion and hip injury. This allows the receivers to work with the backup quarterback Tyler Huntley and Skylar Thompson for most of the season.
