What you need to know about the ceasefire in Gaza



Israel and Hamas have agreed on a ceasefire. For Palestinians, the deal provides respite from Israel’s devastating military campaign that has killed more than 45,000 people in Gaza. For the Israelis, this could allow the release of at least a third of the hostages held by Hamas. But the ambiguity of the deal offers lingering uncertainty.
