this Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) A comprehensive set of guidelines has been introduced for Team India players covering aspects such as travel, personal staff, participation in domestic cricket and conduct during tours. The move is aimed at fostering professionalism, discipline and unity within the team. Failure to comply with these rules may result in severe disciplinary action, including suspension and deduction of match fees.
Key highlights of the new guide
Compulsory participation in domestic cricket matches
In a bid to strengthen the domestic cricket ecosystem, players will now have to play domestic matches to remain eligible for national selection. This mission is designed to ensure talent development, keep the game healthy and inspire emerging players. Exceptions will be allowed only in exceptional circumstances and with the prior approval of the Chairman of the Selection Committee.
Travel and team bonding
BCCI has emphasized the importance of team travel. Recent incidents, such as players traveling separately from their families during the tour of Australia, have prompted the board to ban individual travel arrangements unless pre-approved by the head coach and selection committee chairman.
Restrictions on private staff
Players will no longer be allowed to bring personal staff such as hairdressers, chefs or nannies on tour unless expressly authorized by the BCCI. This policy is designed to minimize logistical challenges and maintain focus on team operations.
stay until the end of the series
Even if the game ends early, players must remain with the team until the scheduled end of the tour or series. This rule is designed to promote team cohesion and avoid distractions.
Disciplinary actions for violations
BCCI has warned players that violation of the guidelines will result in severe penalties. Actions may include suspension of all tournaments organized by the BCCI, including the IPL, and deduction of retention money or match fees.
Family travel policy
The new family travel policy allows players to bring their spouses and children with them on overseas trips of more than 45 days. However, visits are limited to two weeks for each series and must align with the team’s schedule. BCCI will bear the cost of shared accommodation but other expenses will be borne by the players themselves.

implementation and goals
