Everton face no further action from the Premier League after settling all outstanding profits and sustainability regulations charges.
Ten points were previously deducted from the Toffees in November 2023 on financial irregularities relating to the 2021/22 season. Another charge was brought by the Premier League for the following season.
Possible sanctions, had the case not been resolved, include other heavy points deductions, which would have significantly affected the club’s ongoing fight against relegation.
Joint statement from Everton And Premier League Says: “The outstanding element of the complaint against Everton Football Club for breaching the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules for the period ending season 2022/23 has been closed, meaning the club will not face any further action.
“After the club was charged in January 2024, in March 2024, an independent commission split the case into two parts:
“After considering in detail further information and documents provided by the Club, the Premier League Board has concluded that it would not be appropriate or proportionate to continue to pursue the second part of their complaint.
“The Club and the League agree that this terminates all proceedings between the League and the Club in relation to the Club’s breach of the PSR for the financial years ending 30 June 2022 and 30 June 2023.”
