While Israel and Hamas are on the verge of a ceasefire in Gaza, our journalists investigated the strategy of the United Arab Emirates in the region. The oil- and gas-rich Gulf monarchy – a Middle Eastern heavyweight that has a strong rivalry with neighboring Qatar – is expanding its influence and preparing for the post-war period, when the bombs will finally fall silent in the Gaza Strip and the focus will turn to reconstruction.
