An expected feature is coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket app sometime this month: Trading. In the game, which The Pokémon Company brought to mobile last year, players can collect cards by unlocking digital booster packs. They can use the Pokémon cards they get to fight each other. If the trading feature survives, they can also improve their decks by trading with other people, although the feature comes with a set of limitations.
Players can only trade cards with their friends, and the cards must be of the same rarity. Both criteria potentially limit the cards players can draw. To find out, the game has eight rarity levels, and cards from the three highest levels – the most difficult to draw – cannot be exchanged at the moment. Additionally, The Pokémon Company revealed that “items must be used to trade,” although it did not specify what the items would be or how much each transaction would cost. Finally, while only a few cards from the Genetic Apex and Mythical Island booster packs will be sold at launch, the company says it plans to expand players’ choice of packs that can be sold.
There is no specific release date for the trade yet, but the company seems to be open to suggestions when it comes to improving the feature. it INVITE all to test the feature and send feedback when it works, so “the game can continue to evolve in a fun way for everyone.”
