Caitlin Clark’s Surprise appears Joining Taylor Swift in the Kansas City Chiefs’ playoff game on Saturday has many fans excited, but some are terrified of the sight.

“Being a white person, there’s privilege,” Clark said in a recent interview with Time magazine’s Athlete of the Year.
The comments sparked a backlash against the WNBA phenom. Some fans who tuned in Saturday expressed their displeasure, questioning Swift’s past support of Kamala Harris and other Democrats.
Clark, a lifelong Chiefs fan, told TIME in an interview that Swift and Kelce extended an invitation to Clark.

Most recently, Clark appeared alongside Swift on the cover of Time magazine’s late October “Inspiring Women” issue.
Clark said she is a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan. In September 2023, she congratulated Swift after she went public with her romance with Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce.
