Martin Bakole vs. Efe Ajagba knockout, Daniel Dubois set to capture IBF heavyweight world title in US in May | Boxing News


Martin Bakole’s final knockout fight will take place in May to earn the right to fight for Daniel Dubois’ IBF Heavyweight World Championship.

Bakole will box in the United States against Efe Ajagba to become the mandatory challenger for the IBF heavyweight title.

The Congolese contender previously defeated highly regarded rising star Jared Anderson in a Los Angeles boxing event.

“You don’t support Martin Bakole. I’m a big man, I’m a machine,” he declared after that victory. “No one wants to fight me.

“I’m a machine. I got into this sport to take over. I want to be No. 1.”

Ejagba has lost just once in his career and has won five straight fights since losing to Frank Sanchez in 2021. Most recently, Ejagba defeated Italian Olympian Guido Vianello.

Bakole has long been ranked high and is trying to make a run at Dubois’ title. The IBF has ordered Ajagba to face Bakole in a final knockout bout as the next available rated contender.

Dubois, who defeated Anthony Joshua in stunning fashion last year, will defend his belt again on February 22, live sky sports box officewhen he faced in-form opponent Joseph Parker.

Bakole vs. Ejagba will take place in the United States in May and will be staged by boxing power broker Turki Alalshikh.

He also plans to return Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney in separate games.

Garcia’s fight with Haney last year was canceled after he tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug.

The New York State Athletic Commission suspended Garcia for a year, but he will be eligible to box again in May.

He’ll have a fight with Rolando Romero, while Devin Haney hasn’t fought since a tough fight with Garcia last April After boxing, he will face former world champion Jose Ramirez in May.
