After weeks of speculation, Mamouche has agreed to stay with the Premier League champions until the summer of 2029.
Manchester City announce signing of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Mamouch The initial cost was reported to be approximately $72.6 million.
“The 25-year-old Egyptian striker has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract at the Etihad Stadium, meaning he will remain at the club until the summer of 2029,” Manchester City said in a statement on Thursday. .
“This is a day I will never forget,” Mamouche said after signing for the Premier League champions.
“Signing for Manchester City, one of the best teams in the world, is an amazing feeling. I’m delighted, my family is proud and we’re all delighted to be in Manchester.
“With Pep, his technical team and world-class facilities, the players have everything they need to improve their level. When I had the opportunity to come here, it was really attractive to me.”

Mamouch, who was born in Cairo in 1999, stood out in the youth training of the Egyptian Premier League club Wadi Degla in his early years. At just 17 years old, he was promoted to the first team and joined Wolfsburg’s reserve team a year later.
At Wolfsburg, Mamouch initially struggled in terms of consistency and game time, and was eventually loaned out to St. Pauli and Stuttgart.
The forward moved to Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer ahead of the 2023-2024 season and has scored 12 goals in 29 league games.
Mamoushie’s development will inevitably draw comparisons to compatriot Mohamed Salah, but the Liverpool superstar has warned against such comparisons.
“Omar has huge potential and is currently an important player for his team and the national team, but I hope we stay away from the idea of comparison because it will put him under pressure,” Salah said in November.
“Don’t compare him to me. Don’t say ‘the new Mohamed Salah’. Let him continue his career. Comparing a player at the beginning of his career to another player who has achieved great things over the years will not help him. “
Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain said Mamouche is a “versatile and exciting striker”.
“He’s had a great season and every time we watch him play, he impacts the game,” he said.
“He has all the attributes required of a top attacker. He has great pace and awareness and is excellent in front of goal. He can also play in a number of different positions which is a very valuable asset.”
His arrival at the Etihad Stadium comes amid a frustrating season for City.
Manchester City, champions for the past four seasons, currently sit fifth in the Premier League, having played a game more and 12 points behind leaders Liverpool.
Wednesday’s defeat to Paris Saint-Germain also puts Pep Guardiola’s side in danger of missing out on the knockout stages of the Champions League.
