Threads add a new feature that allows users to become more creative to remix posts from other people. The app now has a “markup” tool that allows users to write above the posts they want to share again, Adam Mosseri shared in .
Markup abilities appear in the menu for quoting and reposting. But instead of just quoting a post, it launches a edit tool where you can add highlights, arrows or doodles over a screenshot of the post. Mosseri says that part is intended “so you can add your creation” to the posts, but the tools are somewhat limited to the present. You can only add yellow highlights or red bows and doodles, even though Mosseri says there is “further coming soon” from the meta.
A threads spokesman confirms that the share is the same as quoting the posts that the original user is informed if someone chooses to mark their post. You can also use “Who can answer and quote” to disable markups in your own posts.
