The awards, now in their 37th edition, recognize and celebrate the outstanding contribution to sport by women at all levels, from elite to grassroots and community levels.

Ben Taylor, editor of The Sunday Times, said: “This year’s winners demonstrate the strength, resilience and determination that drives women’s sport forward. “From elite athletes to community leaders, they have all made a lasting impact.

“Many of the winners are shining on the world stage at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, creating unforgettable moments for fans. We are proud to celebrate their achievements and excited to see them continue to make history.”

The public nominated hundreds of female athletes in various categories, which were then narrowed down to a shortlist by an expert judging panel, which included some of the most well-known names in women’s sports management and broadcasting. “
