Arsenal targets attackers as Arteta confesses that ‘we have a lack of goals’

Manager Mikel Arteta said, “Gabriel Jesus and Bookyo Saka are ‘actively’ thinking about bringing some attack options this week after losing injuries.

Jesus suffered an anterior crucial knee ligament injury to Arsenal’s FA Cup tie with Manchester United this month, while Saka was operated on a hamstring injury in December.

The pair has jointly scored 16 goals in all the competitions this season and scored 15 assistance.

It is rarely easy to sign in January, but Arteta said that if they could do before the Premier League meeting with Club Wolverhampton Wanderers, they are eager to move on.

“We lost two very important players. We have a lack of goals and options in the front, it is clear. If we can get the right player, we are actively looking, “Artata said.

“A player? No Someone who makes us better and affects the team. For the period we lost those players, we need some help because we are short.

“The team is still facing it but we have to do what is right for the club.”

Asked if Arsenal would need to sell some players to make room for incoming signings, Arteta said: “It is all about balance and depends on which player it is.

“Is he a player who will give us space or limit us again to a certain state? The rules are quite difficult. What do you bring and what you sell is not just what resources you have.

Arsenal, who lowered points in the draw of 2-2 with Aston Villa last week, is second in the Premier League table and lifts Liverpool by six points, with leaders playing in hand.

The North London Club will imagine their opportunities to maintain the distance at least when they travel to Wolves on Saturday, their 17th position opponents have lost their last three league matches, but Arteta requested caution.

The Spanish manager added, “Tomorrow will be a really tough match tomorrow.”

“They are really good side, so we have to compete. They are now in a different moment. Everything is important. You know I like not to talk about individuals, just the collective quality they have.
