Across Africa | Vodun musical revival in Benin




In this week’s Across Africa show, voodoo believers in Benin combine traditional faith with contemporary creativity to spread their heritage. The African manatee has been under pressure for decades due to hunting and habitat loss, but a Cameroonian biologist is working to improve the freshwater animal’s chances. Senegal is moving ahead with plans to put more of its own identity on key streets and has begun renaming landmarks named after French colonial figures.
