Sandra Lee No stranger to heartbreak.
From the death of her beloved aunt and uncle (who were her parents) to her Breakup with former New York governor As Andrew Cuomo battles breast cancer, the Food Network star has proven his resilience time and time again. Now, Lee, who was evacuated from his Malibu home Tuesday due to the Los Angeles wildfires, may be facing another possible loss.
On January 7, Lee shared the horrific incident footage of fire scorching the hills surrounding her and her home.
“My home in Malibu helped me get through the darkest moments of my life,” she wrote in the caption. “I loved creating it, decorating it, building it, caring for it and protecting it. I cherish every moment with it. As the fires draw closer, I pray for it – and I pray for everyone in Los Angeles for me What an incredibly scary time it is for our community.”

“As the fires arrive at our doorsteps, please stay connected to each other; community is our lifeline during times like these,” she added. “We are all safe, but the fires are inching closer to my paradise in Malibu. 1989 Years ago, when I was in Malibu Adobe When I was working as a waiter, I dreamed of having a home like this (for me) and worked so hard to make it happen. I am heartbroken but I send all my love to all the first responders and firefighters who are doing everything they can to keep us safe. “Safety!”

A day later, Lee told her followers her house was “gone” in an emotional video posted to Instagram.
“Thank you for your prayers – thank you. I’m trying to process it all…I’m really grateful that we’re all safe,” a visibly distraught Lee said in the video. “My house is gone – I cried all night thinking about every room, nook and cranny. It was perfect and now there is only ashes. Please keep our community, firefighters and first responders in your prayers. It’s not over yet – not even close.”
However, on Thursday, Lee said she wasn’t sure if her home was still intact because she had received conflicting reports.

“Last night I was told that my house had been destroyed in a fire. I didn’t sleep all night. I was just crying thinking about it. An hour ago I got a call from my real estate agent saying that my house had been destroyed in a fire. Burned down. “Still there, the neighbor’s house is there,” she wrote on Instagram. “My neighbor got a call from her dear friend and she said she just drove by the houses and they were gone. —Everything is gone! “

“I got a call from the insurance agent and he said he couldn’t even go out onto the street and wouldn’t allow anyone into PCH,” she continued. “I haven’t been home for two days. I don’t know what’s going on. It’s the most stressful thing and I’m just trying to stay calm but I feel so lost. I can’t see my home and I don’t know what I’m doing My friends and family’s home is still my home.”
“I’m completely anxious, I’m very emotional, I feel incredibly overwhelmed, but the most important thing is that everyone is great,” she added. “I pray for our homes, memories and communities. My heart breaks for the neighbors I know who lost their homes. Thank you to everyone who reached out. I just didn’t know.”

The “Sandra Lee’s Homemade Cooking” star was diagnosed with breast cancer, specifically ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), in 2015. She underwent a double mastectomy and later a total hysterectomy.
Four years later, she faced another uphill battle after splitting from Cuomo after 14 years. They never married.
Last year, Lee opened up about the moment she met her relationship is over.
“I was in the kitchen and he said something. As soon as he said it, I knew what he just said. And then all the windows and doors closed. That was it,” Lee explained to Us Weekly .

However, Lee declined to disclose details of the comments made in spring 2019.
“He knew what it was. I knew what it was,” she said.
When they broke up, Lee and Cuomo Spending less and less time together and living “separate” lives.
Lee didn’t reveal many details about her breakup with Cuomo, choosing to keep the information private.
“When you’re living your own lives, you’re not creating a life together,” she told the outlet.
In June 2023, Lee announced the death of her aunt Peggy and uncle Bill, her parents since adolescence.
“This is the saddest thing I have ever written (sic). My wonderful Uncle Bill has passed away. He was my dad, my only real dad,” Lee wrote. Instagram At the time, there was a carousel of photos of her uncle next to her.
Li said she lived with her uncle and aunt “on and off” as a child, and her connection with them grew stronger as she grew older.
“My uncle was my mentor, my protector, my facilitator, my confidant, my best friend,” she continued. “He smiles when I’m nice, but bursts into a bold, thundering laugh when I’m naughty. I’m always me, every wart and imperfection—he loves it best.”

A day later, Lee revealed that her aunt died five months before her uncle.
“Why are they all gone,” Li wrote Instagram then. “One day she’s here and the next day she’s not.”
Lee said the past decade has made her “wiser and stronger” amid all the trials and tribulations.
“I have come to terms with the fact that I will never get over the heartbreak of losing loved ones over the past decade,” Lee told Us Weekly. “The grief is endless, but I will use it to fuel me and feed me, Make me smarter and stronger.
“I would say this has been the most challenging decade of my life.”
