Alex Cora is not expecting Masataka Yoshida to recover yet. The outfielder/DH has not started the rehabilitation mission to prepare for the major league action, and the manager believes he is not ready for his recovery phase yet.
At present, the outfielder has begun to extend his throwing arm to 110 feet. He still has a way to go before reaching the distance he needs to reach the outfield.

This is the reason Boston Red Socks Manager Alex Cora doesn’t want him to come back anytime soon:
“He was actually throwing today…he needed to throw from the outfield. It wasn’t just standing there. You had to throw. So we’ll see how it was going.”
Yoshida has not participated in two opening series yet Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles. He started the injury roster season after he had shoulder surgery to repair the lip in the offseason.
Alex Cora provides damage updates about damage to Red Sox Star
In addition to Masataka Yoshida, the Boston Red Sox has some other injuries. They are at all stages of recovery. Alex Cora revealed on Thursday that the closer Liam Hendriks began throwing it at 120 feet.
This marks an important step in the former Chicago White Sox Reliever returns to the mound, but that’s the only update, so Hendriks is still a bit far from rehabilitation work like Yoshida.
starter Lucas Giolito Before the previous day, he was still not injured. However, the former Los Angeles star is about to return and throw an inning in the recovery outing. Cora says via Mass Live:
“Top the ball well. Healthy, that’s the most important thing.”
Starter Brayan Bello is also getting closer to paying off. The starter has been rehabilitating in the minor leagues, and he gave up four runs in 2.1 innings to play Jacksonville.
Cora said:
“We’re going to reevaluate the next situation, but it’s not closed yet. I think if you do math, it’s very similar to spring training.”
After so many injuries, the Red Sox has started for 2-4 years despite defeating the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday. Garrett crochetted eight innings.
