It doesn’t seem possible that it’s 2025. I’m old enough to remember when 2015 felt old in Back to the Future Part II. Now that was a decade ago. Basically, time keeps moving and the movies you grew up with with aging, make you feel old, and that just goes on until you die.

1925 – 100th Anniversary
The Phantom of the Opera – When we think of Universal Monsters we think of Frankenstein, Wolf Man, Invisible Man, etc The Phantom of the Opera definitely one of them and this original silent version is an all time classic.

1935 – 90th Anniversary
The Bride of Frankenstein – Another Universal Monster is celebrating a milestone this year, and with a new modern remake from filmmaker Maggie Gyllenhaal coming out to boot!

Psycho – Alfred Hitchcock’s story about a man and his hotel is probably the Mount Rushmore of horror. Worth celebrating at any time, but especially on an anniversary.

Jaws – It’s definitely a big deal that Steven Spielberg’s landmark shark movie is celebrating its 50th anniversary. But, even more, it means that the modern Hollywood blockbuster celebrates the same anniversary. Seems very young, doesn’t it?

The Empire is back – The best Star Wars The movie is 45 years old and, as exciting as it is, it’s almost more exciting/scary to be just five years away from turning 50.
