Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou is looking forward to facing National League side Tamworth in the FA Cup this weekend.
Spurs travel to the lowest-ranked side on the left in the competition, with the biggest upset in the competition’s history on the cards.
But despite playing a much weaker opponent than the team they beat on Wednesday, Postecoglou admits he can’t turn too much and is taking the FA Cup very seriously.
Speaking to the media, he said: “I still think it’s a really important competition. It covers every level of football and always has great stories within it.
“There are already stories like that in the early rounds of the cup and we are meeting a side that has gone through the early rounds.
“I still think the cup final is a marquee day on the global football calendar. I think it’s a really important tournament that maintains the right kind of traditions.
“Certainly in my eyes, I see it as a very important part of the calendar.”

“I have no doubts about the attitude of the players. All the boys have a good understanding that every game is important. We go into Sunday’s game with the same mindset of making sure we do the things we can control and putting more emphasis on the things we do really well.
“There are always challenges. I’m sure Tamworth will think it’s a great opportunity for them and we have to be ready for that.”
Spurs go from one end of the football pyramid to the other in a matter of days.
During the week, they beat Liverpool 1–0 in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final, Erne Slott’s first away defeat of the campaign.
Now, they must adapt to a team that will look to knock off the Premier League giants and create a memory that will last a lifetime.
Postecoglou added: “”They are not multi-million dollar players. They are very intelligent people. They are good people. Most of them come from that place, some even worse.
“They will go there and respect the fact that Tamworth will probably be preparing them for the biggest game of their lives. And I’m sure they will do their best to create an environment where they can be proud of their ground and their facility.
“I don’t think it’s a problem for us. The important thing for us is to prepare ourselves for the important cup game.”
