Following its win at The Game Awards, Team Asobi’s Astro Bot has now taken home another Game of the Year trophy — this time from New York Game Awards. During the ceremony on January 21, the adventure-platformer won the Big Apple Award for Best Game of the Year, as well as the Tin Pan Alley Award for Best Music in a Game, and the Central Park Children’s Zoo Award for Best Kids Game.

Other event winners include Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, UFO 50 and Metaphor: ReFantazio. Indie horror hit Mouthwashing took home the Hidden Gem Award, and Silent Hill 2 won the Best Remake Award. Troy Baker also won the Best Acting Award for his work in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the first major award win for the December release.

The New York Video Game Critics Circle also honored Sam Lake with the Andrew Yoon Legend Award for his work on Remedy’s connected universe of game franchises. Ryan O’Callaghan, executive director of NYVGCC, said in a statement at the time the recipient was announced: “It’s not often you see a video game studio deliver such a great sequel to a title. a decade ago, but it’s amazing how it resonated with fans and spawned a whole connected universe made up of past franchises.
