Angry Barry Ferguson promised a series of changes and style shifts in the Rangers after Ibrox’s 2-0 defeat by Hibernian.
Another mistake from light blue goalkeeper Jack Butland allowed Dylan Levitt to score in the eighth minute, while Martin Boyle’s goal in the 69th minute extended the visitors’ unbeaten run in William Hill’s Premier League, bringing it to 16 games and making GERS owner “smoke”.
Former light blue captain Ferguson, who had to prepare for a visit to Bilbaa Sports in Thursday night’s Europa League quarterfinal after replacing Philippe Clement in February until the end of the season, will have no paused defenders John Souttar and Midfielder Mohamed Mohamed Diomande and enjoyed the changes there.
“What’s worse than disappointing is, God, where did I start? How long have we been?” Ferguson said after the game.
“That’s not a Rangers. Miles to be a Rangers. Here’s your bread and butter.
“I’ve said that I feel like I’m repeating myself. European games, Celtics’ games are the easiest game to stand up. This is the game where this group of players struggles, and it’s obvious today.
“You are playing for the Glasgow Rangers. If you can’t play football, you shouldn’t play football. Especially here, you come to a place like this.
“Excellent stadiums and supporters, packed with after-students, we did a great job in such performances. You may see or hear, I’m in the smoke.
“What steps do I have to do from now until the end of this season. And the viewing may not be beautiful.
“As Rangers fans, come to Ibrox, you want to see the attractive football of free flow.
“I don’t think we can do it.
“But I have a good idea now, at the end of the season, what I’m going to do now.”
Ferguson: I’m angry | “I don’t want to see anyone”
Ferguson has not yet won at Ibrox as Gers Boss in three games.
The 47-year-old said: “I’m going back tonight, I’m going to rage. I don’t want to see anyone.”
“I asked them, will this hurt you? This is my question for them.
“Yes, there will be a series of changes on Thursday night. I can say that now.”
Asked if these changes included Butland, who made several mistakes in recent games, Ferguson added: “I said to Jack, it was a bad mistake. He knew that.
“You see some changes. That’s why you carry the squad.
“If people make mistakes, people get out of it, people don’t run as much as I think they should run, then they don’t join my team.
“Because I looked at the Hibs team that I thought wanted it more than we did.
“It bothers me so much, but that’s the truth. So now my job is my job, trying to come up with a situation that won’t happen.
“I’ll tell you something, I’ll try to do it. I’ll make sure I do it.”
