
Beverage Company Budweiser Memorial Alex Ovechkin The record-breaking 895th goal was a gift to the NHL goalkeepers who have never been victims of the “Great 8” throughout their careers.
The marketing campaign has received widespread attention on social media, with several online people receiving memorial cans called “Zero of 895”.
A total of 28 goalkeepers received their memorial cans and they recognized their efforts to stop Alex Ovechkin from adding more goals to their career roster. Message sent to the recipient has been read:
“The greatest goal rate ever won’t be scoring on these Zero Kings.”
Although Ovechkin has suffered 183 goalkeepers throughout his career, many others have not become the greatest goal-scoring prey ever. However, it is not clear how or why Budweiser chose the goalkeeper.
The most noteworthy one is Curtis Joseph. “Cujo” stopped two shots of the “Great 8” in a 2007 game between the Washington Capitals and the Toronto Maple Leafs. This feat won him a special edition Budweiser.
