American car dealers expect to increase price
Greetings from Detroit, where I report live to CBC News Network. Yesterday we visited a car car -a dearborn, Michich, to take over the tariffs and whether he would influence his job.
There were different estimates of how many more expensive cars would get on this side of the border, but prices are expected to shoot for thousands of dollars.
Jim Seavitt, who has been selling Ford Cars for decades, does not support Trump’s tariff politics.
“I do not believe that this is a long -term solution, although I think our president is,” said Seavitt, President of Village Ford. Expects a negative impact on his job – in the end. The 600 cars he has in his inventory are not subject to tariffs now. He said he saw more customers last week, and some buyers want to buy before prices get bigger.
I asked his colleague Jim Flynn if the Americans would be ready to pay more for their vehicles.
“The Americans are not willing to run public transport or walk to work. So, I think they will ultimately be ready to pay more,” said Flynn, who added that he was a big fan of Canadian rock icon tragically hooks and plays in the band. His bassist is from Windsor, Ont.
I currently asked both Jims about the state of the Canada-US connection.
“I guess it’s a bit like the marriage that are separated. I hope they are not divorced,” said Seavitt, whose wife grew up in Canada.
