Over the past few years, Benavidez has used pressure to push Canelo into giving him the fight he wanted. He was accused of ducking him, questioning his legacy and citing his success with Dmitry Bivol, a fighter Canelo lost to.

Most fighters would be ignored, but not Benavidez, who gave up trying to put pressure on the fight. Even though he’s fighting now at 175, he’s still talking about fighting, and even though he’s fighting Canelo now, some fans find that creepy.
It shows that Benavidez is used to fighting anyone he wants and no one says no. When he finally meets someone he’s not interested in, he can’t mentally process it and move on. He kept pushing.
