Edgar Berlanga Releases His Next Six Fights He Wants After March 8 Fight, Rumor Has It Gabriel Rosado (26-17-1, 15 KOS) in Puerto Rico. Rosado hasn’t won a fight in four years, starting in 2021.
Six fights, zero chance?
He could lose all of the six games Berlanga wants. This will make it difficult for him to fight the remaining five without strong opposition from the fighters who choose to fight him.
Edgar includes Jermall Charlo and the recently eliminated Jaime Munguia. Even those guys might be too talented for the bigger Berlanga.
Interestingly, Berlanga (22-1, 17 KOs) will fight Canelo Alvarez as one of the six fights he wants, which seems unlikely without him beating Someone versus a lightweight heavyweight or a senior lightweight.
Canelo would never have fought Berlanga without doing something beyond his ability, like beating David Benavidez, David Morel David Morrell, Artur Beterbiev or Dmitry Bivol.
Berlanga reportedly added 193 pounds He suffered a 12-round decision loss against Canelo on September 14 last year. That night in Brooklyn, New York, Berlanga vs. Canelo looked big. Amazingly, he was able to make 168 pounds.
Big, he should fight at lightweight. Berlanga’s decision to stay at 168 is understandable, but he’s not talented enough to beat fringe contenders at 175.

“After my fight on March 8, here are my next six fights in no particular order.
Serve me,” x.Jamie Munguia
Jermall Charlo
caleb factory
Hamzah Sheeraz
Canelo Alvarez – Rematch
Diego Pacheco
Fighters like Caleb Plant and Hamzah Sheeraz might jump at the chance to fight Berlanga. The former IBF super middleweight champion has tried to fight him but with no luck. If the factory does try to fight him, he’ll probably ignore him and continue to play it safe, wait, and hope Canelo gives him his blessing for a rematch.
Berlanga has yet to defeat anyone to prove he is a B-level fighter. The way he looked with Canelo and in some of his other fights was not level one.
Berlanga’s best wins:
– Steve Rolls
– Wanderer Alexis Angulo
– Marcelo Coceres
– Demond Nicholson
– Jason Quigley
