Chelsea have decided to recall Trevoh Chalobah’s loan


Trevoh Chalobah has been recalled by parent club Chelsea from his loan spell at Crystal Palace, multiple reports have revealed.

Chalobah moved to Selhurst Park last summer on a deal until the end of the season, although Chelsea retain the option to shorten things in January if they wish.

The Athletic Chelsea have reportedly decided to activate the clause sending Chalobah back to Stamford Bridge with head coach Enzo Maresca in dire need of reinforcements following injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiasile.

Maresca had previously been probed about the possibility of recalling Chalobah, but was satisfied with his answers and said he did not want to disrespect Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glassner by talking about one of his players.

“I already said in the last press conference, he’s a Palace player and I think it’s a lack of respect. The 25-year-old is ‘expected to play an important role’ for Chelsea between now and the end of the season, potentially joining the ever-present Levi Colville at the heart of Chelsea’s defence.
