Chris Wood: Nottingham Forest forward signs two-year contract with Premier League club Football News

Chris Wood has signed a new two-year contract with Nottingham Forest.

Wood has scored 14 goals in 22 Premier League games this season, helping Nottingham Forest rise to third in the standings.

The New Zealand international’s contract expires at the end of the season but he has now committed his future to Nottingham Forest, following in the footsteps of centre-back Murillo.

“You can see the dreams and ambitions of this club,” Wood told Sky Sports News.

“We’ve had a great start to the season and we’re now halfway through. We still have a lot to achieve and work on.

“But I think this club, the owners, the staff, the players and the fans all have a lot of things they want to achieve and grow into a great club again.

“I have a lot of confidence and a lot of confidence has been instilled in me from the manager to my teammates.

“That’s the biggest confidence booster for a striker (to score goals). You still have to put in the hard work for the team and make sure your other teammates are performing well at the same time, but it’s a big confidence boost – when A booster when you score a goal.”

Nuno happy with Murillo’s new contract

Murillo gives exclusive interview to Sky Sports

Ahead of this weekend’s trip to Bournemouth, Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo said he was happy to be counting on Murillo after the Brazilian signed a contract until 2029. Lillo moved on.

“I think this is a player with huge talent,” Nuno said.

“He can make huge improvements because of his age. I thought he joined us last season and the improvement was there.

“I think as long as he stays healthy and can play, that’s great.

“It’s good for us. Essentially, we have players here that are happy, motivated, loyal, and that’s good for us.”

“There’s no question about it. There’s not a player on our team who doesn’t have that sense of improvement and a commitment to playing the game well. Murillo is just another guy.”
