Colombia vows ‘war’ against leftist guerrillas as violence kills more than 100




Colombia has declared a state of emergency and launched a military offensive against leftist guerrillas after the violence claimed more than 100 lives, threatening the peace process. The unrest spread to three departments, displacing 20,000 people, fueled by wars between militias linked to the cocaine trade. The administration of President Gustavo Petar is facing a big challenge.
