Drake was given a green light to access his songs against Kendrick Lamar like the files of accessing sensitive record labels in the case of defamation in our songs.

The star had asked for a copy of Kendrick Lamar’s record contract, as well as information on salary and bonuses for senior executive record company Universal Music Group (UMG).

Drake accused the company of slander by allowing Lamar’s songs to be published and promoted, claiming he was a pedophile.

Universal Pictures applied to dismiss the case last month, calling it “illogical” for “silence” Lamar’s creative expression.

A hearing on the motion for dismissal is scheduled to be held on June 30.

Drake’s lawsuit marks the latest chapter in his long-standing dispute with Lamar.

The lawsuit also accused Universal of colluding with Spotify, falsely exaggerating the streaming numbers, a claim both companies denied.

In response, Universal, which has been Drake’s label for more than a decade, said: “Not only are these claims untrue, but we will seek the notion that damages the reputation of any artist – not to mention Drake – is illogical.”

“Drake has intentionally and successfully used UMG to distribute his music and poetry, traditionally engaged in a violent back and forth “rap struggle” to express his feelings about other artists.”

Additionally, the brand claims Drake “lost the rap battle he caused and willing to attend his show.”

“He is now trying to silence the artist’s creative expression for legal procedures and seeks (general) damage (universal) to distribute artist’s music,” the company concluded.
