
Jay North, with his “Denis’ Threat” Fox News Digital confirmed that the character from the beloved 60s sitcom passed away on Sunday. He is 73 years old.
North died after fighting at home in Butler Lake, Florida Colon cancer Over the years, according to social media posts shared by his longtime friend “Lassie” actor Jon Provost and his wife Laurie Jacobson.
The children’s actor has received praise for his role as Dennis Mitchell, an unruly young man who is known for pushing his neighbor George Wilson.
“Jeanne Russell called us, but didn’t unexpectedly call us,” Jacobson shared online. “Our dear friend Jay North has been battling cancer for years and Jay passed away peacefully at home at noon this morning.

“As many of his fans know, he had a tough journey in Hollywood and afterwards…but he didn’t let it define his life. His heart was as big as a mountain and he loved his friends deeply. He often called us and loved you with me with all my heart.
She added: “Jon’s lifelong friend, Jeanne’s brother and my dear friend, we will miss him so much. He is not in pain now. His pain is over. His pain is over. He is in peace in the end.”

The Provost wrote with a “heavy heart” that his friend of nearly 70 years passed away on Sunday.
“We just lost another original friend, Jay’Dennis the Norce,” Prost shared. “Jay passed today at 12:00 ET. I’ve known Jay for nearly 70 years, and now you can rest Jay.”
“It’s not as easy as some of us, not that sure cake, but you do suffer a lot than most. You’re a good guy Jay, I miss you all my heart, but I know you’re in peace now.”

North’s character is based on the “Denis Threat” comic created by Hank Ketcham.
The show aired for four seasons, starting in October 1959 and was cancelled in 1963 after more than 140 episodes.
