Devin Haney confirms talks with Turki Shaikh about potential fight

Devin Haney revealed today that the reason he traveled to London for a ring shoot was to meet Turki Al-Shiekh, “Talk about what’s next.”

Fans are wondering why 26-year-old Haney is boxing in London since he has no fights scheduled and just lost to Ryan Garcia. Didn’t understand this until now. Devin came to see Turki hoping to get a fight with one of his cards, and most likely big money.

Turkic talks

The recently defeated Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) is looking to fight on one of Turki’s Riyadh season cards. However, Alsheikh tends to compete for his career, which could be a bad thing for Haney since he has a weak chin.

If Haney gets knocked out by whoever Turki chooses for him, interest in a rematch with Ryan Garcia will be greatly diminished. Fighting can still happen, but will be treated as a joke. Haney was ready to go into the dumps, it was viewed as a hype job and he was never as good as the gullible fans thought.

His best wins were against Georges Kambosos, Regis Progres and Vasily Lomachenko. As we all know, Haney’s victory over Lomachenko was highly controversial, as he appeared to lose the fight in Las Vegas before ultimately winning by 12-round decision. Kambosos was just a flawed, subpar, one-hit wonder hitter who built his career by beating out a confused, rusty, injured Teofimo Lopez.

Chasing a payday

“I want to fight everyone. You all know I don’t like to adjust fights. I want the biggest fights to happen. I want to fight the best fighters in the world. That’s one of the reasons I’m here. I’m here It was to meet with His Excellency Turki Sheikh to discuss next steps,” Devin Haney said. media During his training session in London today, he explained why he traveled to the UK to show off.

“Turki made an offer to Te’o that was much higher than what he offered. For whatever reason, he said no and that’s what stopped the fight. It’s a fight that can still be fought. I’m following One thing is I want to fight everyone on a level playing field.

“I want to be the voice of clean boxing because I’m someone who’s actually been through it. I’ve been through what it’s like to be cheated on and what it’s like to fight someone who’s on PEDs,” Haney said of his fight with Ryan Garcia Shi said. “I want to clean up the sport of boxing. So that’s what I’m focusing on right now.”
