Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’ fiancee, Lauren Sanchez, is the center of attention in her dress at the inauguration of US President Donald Trump. Sanchez was seen wearing a white blazer and pants with a lace corset underneath with crossover lapels by Alexander McQueen.
The look was deemed inappropriate for a state occasion. Netizens questioned whether or not this look was appropriate, with some even saying it looked trashy. Others also said money doesn’t equal class, with one user even mocking the Amazon billionaire’s wife.
“Lauren Sánchez wears a lingerie top at the Rotonda de la Capital at the inauguration. Is it appropriate?” one user asked.
“Lauren Sanchez is wearing a corset bra under her jacket. Wild outfit for Trump’s inauguration,” said another user.
“Looks like Jeff Bezos’ girlfriend Lauren Sanchez’s shirt was delayed by Amazon delivery. So she just went with a jacket and a bra. Classy,” commented a third user.
“Come on Lauren Sanchez. You decided to wear a bra and blazer to a presidential inauguration? Money doesn’t equal class. Embarrassing,” said a fourth user.
“Lauren Sanchez was dressed by Victoria’s Secret for the inauguration. Too bad,” joked another user.
“I’m all about sexy women, but this is a tacky look. She should have checked with the First Lady about her outfit. Melania looks hot and badass,” commented one user.
Trump was sworn in as president of the United States for the second time on Monday during an indoor ceremony in the Capitol rotunda. JD Vance was also sworn in as US Vice President.
The event was moved indoors due to extremely cold weather in the US. Members of the incoming Trump administration were unable to bring in their spouses. Governors, including Ron DeSantis of Florida and Brian Kemp of Georgia, were ordered to watch the ceremony from the overflow room.
The ceremony was attended by several world leaders and business tycoons including Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Tesla and SpaceX CEOs, Elon Musk, and Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg.
India was represented by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. In addition, Jeff Bezos had donated $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund. Amazon also streamed the ceremony live on Prime Video.
