As debates about MS Dhoni’s retirement exploded throughout the cricket world, India’s Wicketkeeper Goswami strongly reminds everyone that MSD is not an average player.

Meanwhile, Goswami said CSK wasn’t struggling with MS Dhoni’s hit, but admitted that his slow knock could be a small cause in the ongoing season. He advised CSK to try people like Shivam Dube, which might help them.

Goswami recalls a special moment with MS Dhoni during the Vijay Hazare Trophy semifinals. Dhoni’s words about form and faith have remained with him ever since. He added: “The only thing I want to talk to is when Bengal played Jharkhand in the Vijay Hazare Trophy semifinal.

I remember clearly what he said to “me” and no one saw the form. This is something in it. Sometimes you can even pretend to be in your form of body language. And, this will only take a single blow from the middle of the bat to really feel it.

Goswami mentioned that even today, young players look up to Dhoni for guidance, pointing out that his presence on the stumps has made the bowler more confident.

Amid the buzz of retirement, Doni stressed that he would not decide his future now. After IPL 2025 ends in May, he plans to consider what he wants to do next year in the next 10 months. Earlier, there was speculation that CSK’s last game against DC was his last IPL game at Chepauk.
