Federal judge clears way for release of special counsel’s report on Trump election case



A federal judge on Monday cleared the way for the release of a special counsel report into President-elect Trump’s election interference case.

In Monday’s ruling, Judge Erin Cannon approved the release of the first of two volumes from Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation. Cannon will consider releasing a second volume on Friday covering Trump’s handling of classified documents.
