Former batsman reveals the reasons behind Yashasvi Jaiswal’s shocking “Goa” move: “Differences from Mumbai’s management…”

India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal decided to leave his home country Mumbai and move to Goa to play cricket. The decision was made formally a few days ago and inspired the Indian domestic tour.

Former Indian and Mumbai batsman Wasim Jaffer has opened up to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s decision and believes it’s too early for young people to leave family giants like Mumbai. Jaffer was shocked when he knew about it and talked about its shortcomings.

Although Jaffer felt Jaiswal was excellent enough to play in all three formats for India, he felt that moving from Mumbai to Goa would not further help his career due to the huge differences between the two sides.

“Leaving Mumbai was a shocking decision” – Wasim Jaffer

In talking about Espncricinfo’s Timeout, Wasim Jaffer expressed dissatisfaction with Yashasvi Jaiswal’s decision to move from Mumbai to Goa. Jaffer believes that it is not good to leave a team like Mumbai among such young players.

“Whatever Goa offers. You’re not leaving Mumbai, especially at this age. If someone is 34-35, then you want to go out. The difference in the management of the Mumbai team must have prompted him to make this decision, but I think leaving Mumbai was a shocking decision,” Jaffer said.

It is believed that Jaiswal had a disagreement with Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy captain Ajinkya Rahane and even kicked his Kitbag in anger. However, the report is not official yet.

Jaffer also shed light on the differences between the two teams and thought Jaiswal made it too early. Mumbai is a domestic cricket giant and the most successful team in the Ranji Trophy, but Goa won the plate group last season and just managed to qualify as an elite group.

He added: “A man from under 14 to now for Mumbai, Goa is a sector team that has just entered the elite team – let him go there and whatever time he will spend on top cricket, I’ll be surprised that he made the decision very quickly.”

Yashasvi Jaiswal should play in all three formats: Wasim Jaffer

Speaking further on the same platform, Wasim Jaffer called on Yashasvi Jaiswal to play in all three formats for India. However, he admitted that the migration from Mumbai to Goa had to take place in the opener in the past few days.

He mentioned: “But he (Jaiswal) shouldn’t want to play Ranji trophy. For someone like him, he should play for India in three formats. That should be his focus. I’m sure (the move) plays in his mind. Because that happened this week or two.”

Yashasvi Jaiswal has become one of the highest bottle openers in the country. He has established the midstream platform for the Indian test team and is also in the lineup of other formats.

In the Australian border Gawaska trophy, Jasval is the highest in India. Left-handed is a serious talent and will likely serve India for many years to come.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s IPL Form

Jaiswal scored the highest in the game, with 67 45 goals, 3 4-pointers and 5 six-pointers. The Royals will hope their running machine will maintain consistent scoring in the upcoming game.
