Gautam Adani met Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on January 12 and announced an investment of Rs 65 billion for the Adani Group’s power and cement projects in the state, officials said .
Adani visited the CM at his official residence in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, according to a statement from the state public relations department.
During their meeting, Adani revealed plans to invest Rs 60,000 crore in the expansion of the Adani Group’s power plants in Raipur, Korba and Raigarh. This expansion will increase Chhattisgarh’s total power generation capacity by 6,120 MW, the statement said.
In addition, the Adani group chairman pledged Rs 5,000 crore for the development and expansion of cement plants in the state.
Following the Chief Minister’s advice, Adani also pledged Rs 10,000 crore over the next four years to support initiatives in education, health, skill development and tourism through the Adani Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts and beyond.
The meeting further explored opportunities for collaboration in manufacturing of defence-related equipment, setting up of data centers and establishment of a global capability center in Chhattisgarh, the statement added.
