He accused Chappell of setting the agenda and coaching with an Australian mentality, which didn’t quite work in India. According to Uthappa, Chappelle never respected Indian culture and had a bad habit of leaking information when things went against him.

“Greg Chappell was very good to me as a youngster. I just came into the team. I was young and he used to support the youngsters. As a 20-year-old, my dream was to play for India and for India wins and hopefully I can win a World Cup for India,” Uthappa said.
“When you get a chance to play for the national team, you feel like a boss. You don’t need anything else. I will give everything for my team. That’s the mentality I play with,” he added road.
Uthappa also revealed that under Chappell’s leadership, the concept of strength training was introduced, but it did not work well for senior players because they were not used to it. Ultimately, Chappell’s Australian approach affected India’s overall performance.
