Hours before the US TikTok ban goes into effect, TikTok posted a statement on its app, notifying users of the latest developments.
In the notification, which was alerted on the customer “For You” page on Saturday night, the company confirmed the law that bans TikTok will take effect on Sunday.
The leadership noted that the ban will “force” the company to make its services “temporarily unavailable.”

“We are working to restore our service in the United States as soon as possible and appreciate your support,” the statement said. “Please stay tuned.”
The social networking platform said it is “dark” on Sunday without a “definitive” statement from the Biden administration.
“The statements issued today by both White House Biden and the Department of Justice have failed to provide the necessary clarity and security to service providers that are critical to keeping TikTok available to more than 170 million Americans,” TikTok said in a statement published on X.

TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew thanked Trump in a video Friday for his “commitment to work with us to find a solution that keeps TikTok available in the United States. This is a strong position for the First Amendment and against the arbitrary censorship”.

During the presidential campaign, Trump said he would “never ban TikTok” after joining the platform, but he led calls for a ban during his first term.
