The Mount Marapi in Indonesia broke out on Thursday, emitting rows of 1.5 km (4,900 feet) of ashes above its peak.
Timely CCTV footage captured ashes rising into the sky.
The eruption has been rated on Level 2 (the third highest severity) and requires a 3km (9,800ft) exclusion zone.
Malapi is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia – a vast archipelago country. The previous eruption killed at least 24 mountaineers in 2023.
